Some photos for Activities for Calligraphy and Taekwondo

Annual Report of 2010-2011 for Asso of Bordeaux Aquitaine and Korea

Our team in Bordeaux, France, developed the second phase of the popularized Korean language (hangul) from September 2010 supported by Korean Embassy in Paris. The work started with 8 educational institutions including elementary, middle and high schools as well as the Cathedral church in city center (Notre Dame de Bordeaux) from March to June 2011. To supply beautiful and scientific Hangul, we provided cultural content including calligraphy, cinema, music (including Korean traditional concert), Taekwondo, Korean traditional clothes (Hanbok), paper folding (origami, Pliage du papie) etc. Diversified cultural education and activities has expanded the base and attracted teenage students who have begun to learn Hangul and Korean culture. Our team has seen have seen the potential to further expand our efforts in Bordeaux and the Aquitaine region.

- Improvement in Quality and a number of Schools and Students

We provided 168 hours and 10 minutes for 1,317 students and their parents. This amount is double the first year (2009-2010). In this year (2010-2011), we started an elementary school(Anatole France) with calligraphy, paper folding and Korean pop song. Furthermore, we launched new courses such as paper folding and fashion show of Hanbok as well as expanding our audience to parents and citizens in Bordeaux.

In terms of growth of quality, the high school of FranÒ«ois Magendie, one of the prestigious high schools, will adopt Hangul as a third foreign language from September 2011, a first in France. This historical achievement has been done with the support of the Education section, Korean Embassy in France.

An open minded attitude of culture in Bordeaux and Aquitaine region showed that this region has a high capacity to expand Korean language and culture. To realize our efforts to expand, our team has to be more organized, and also need more qualified instructors. To attain our goal, instructors have to participate in a refresher course. Course materials will be standardized.
